The Massasoit Forest Clowns were instituted in 1990 to support the operations and charitable efforts of Massasoit Forest, and they have performed at many parades through southern New England.
Members of the Clown Unit include men and women, from all walks of life and levels of experience, who freely give their time and talents to share the gift of laughter and cheer to entertain and amaze children of all ages, and to raise awareness and funds for The Tall Cedars Foundation. They do this because it’s a lot of fun, they love doing it, and because it’s very rewarding.
Our current clown roster includes, Pokkets, Little Star, “Bob”, Chauf, Wheels, Rinkles, SNA-Z, Razzle, Turn-Up, and Dusty, all of whom volunteer their time to spread laughter and cheer and to support the Tall Cedars and their philanthropy.

All Requests are filled on a first come-first serve basis based on the availability of our volunteers, and events which pledge to make a donation to us so we can continue to support our philanthropy will be given priority.

Hobo Tramp Clown are down on their luck and in between jobs, they may work for food or shelter, but they are just as happy to hop on a train and go where ever it takes them. Their clothes are worn and tattered from their travels but they are not dirty nor do they smell bad.
Character Clowns are the exaggerated portrayal of a profession or hobby. It could be a doctor, an astronaut or almost anything else. Typically, a character clown can be identified by their portrayal based on their costume, props, and mannerisms, and or fashion of movement. Their clown makeup may be on of the other types, or a character clown may not wear any makeup at all. The hobo/tramp is the “lowest ranking” in the clown hierarchy, and jokes are usually at their expense.
Auguste Clowns originate from Europe and the word Auguste means foolish, they are known for their loud mismatched clothing which contains bright colors and patterns. They are usually the butt of a joke from white face clowns.
White Face Clowns are most likely the oldest type of clown and may have been in existing in some form for many centuries. When interacting with other clowns, a white face is usually the boss and is rarely the victim of the other clowns antics unless they are revolting against him or her. They usually wear a coordinated costume with 3-4 colors or a one piece clown jumpsuit.
